Over nine NLL seasons, Veltman played 136 games, scored 165 goals and had 461 points. He played in two NLL finals with Calgary and Buffalo.

Veltman would get his championship, winning the Mann Cup – the Canadian Senior A championship – with the Victoria Shamrocks in 2015.

After losing to Peterborough in the 2007 Mann Cup final with Coquitlam, Veltman got his chance for payback.

After seven seasons with Coquitlam, Veltman was traded to Victoria. He had 54 points in 15 games as Victoria won its third straight Western Lacrosse Association title. Facing Peterborough in the Mann Cup, the Shamrocks won Game 5 in overtime and sealed the title with a 12-6 victory. Veltman had four goals and five assists in the series.

An original member of the Georgetown Gators Minor Lacrosse system, Veltman won an Ontario Jr. B MVP award with his hometown Halton Hills Bulldogs in 2002.

He was the first overall pick in the Ontario Jr. A draft by Orangeville. That summer, Veltman represented Canada at the 2003 World Under-19 Field Lacrosse Championships, earning a silver medal.

Over four Jr. A seasons, Veltman averaged more than four points per game, capped by a league-leading 102-point season in 2006.

At Hobart College, Veltman became the first rookie to lead the Statesmen in scoring in 34 years and was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference rookie of the year in 2005. He was a three-time conference all-star, second team in 2006 and 2007 and first team in 2008.

He graduated as Hobart College’s all-time leader at the Division I level in goals (109) and points (162).
