ATHLETE – BUILDER – TRACK & FIELD – VOLLEYBALL – INDUCTED IN 2007
Known by many as a successful high school coach, Bruce Andrews authored his own accomplished athletic career.

An exceptional middle-distance runner, Andrews won back-to-back Canadian juvenile cross-country titles in 1956 and 1957. At the 1960 Ontario high school championships, he earned a silver medal in the mile, beaten only by future Commonwealth Games champion Bruce Kidd.
His success brought several scholarship from the U.S. and Andrews chose Seton Hall University where he would eventually be named team captain.
As team captain, he led Seton Hall to consecutive victories at U.S. Two-Mile Indoor Relay Championships in 1964 and 1965.
Andrews also represented Canada at several international meets.
As a coach, Andrews served as the middle-distance coach for the Ontario team at the 1985 Canada Summer Games.
He led Acton High School to back-to-back Ontario high school volleyball championships in 1987 and 1988 – the only Acton team to repeat as OFSAA champions.
In track and field, Andrews coached four Ontario high school champions who combined to win 11 OFSAA gold medals, seven of those by his daughter Kaitlyn, a fellow Hall of Fame member.
Andrews also served as the curator for the Halton Hills Sports Museum and Resource Centre.
