The Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame is governed by a Board of Directors whose membership includes representation from the Town of Halton Hills, various sporting associations and interested volunteers. The mandate of the Board of Directors is threefold:
To digitally collect, restore, preserve and display historically significant artifacts and memorabilia which recognize the important social and community developmental contributions that sport has played in the Town of Halton Hills.
To plan and present the annual Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame Awards program recognizing outstanding athletic achievement of individuals within our community and also to recognize the very significant volunteer contribution of individual citizens to the development of sporting traditions in Halton Hills.
To promote the education, teaching, research and publication of all fields of endeavour related to the sporting history of Halton Hills. To display in a modern, digitized, interactive format, the Sports history, Hall of Fame Inductees, and all significant sports activities in Halton Hills.
Museum Development
The Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame Digital Display is located at 221 Guelph St., Georgetown in the main lobby of the Mold-Masters SportsPlex, the existing physical Museum is in the Gordon Alcott Heritage Hall. The goal of this together with physical display units throughout the Mold-Masters facility, is to provide a highly visible and interactive view of the historical contribution of sport in Halton Hills.
Creating an Archive
The Museum’s archive consists of a permanent/digital collection which includes written material, photographs and artifacts which support the mandate of the Museum. Since our digital collection is constantly being updated, we ask for your support to help our collection grow. We would like to receive loans of photographs, programs, club newsletters, minutes and artifacts which document the history of individuals, teams, or sport organization in Halton Hills.
